In the field of email marketing, understanding email deliverability and obsessively trying to improve it is crucial. To ensure their emails matter for mailbox providers with opaque and increasingly sophisticated email algorithms, marketers are constantly on the lookout for innovative strategies that can give them an edge. "Seed Emails" is one such tool, a key concept and strategy in email marketing that could significantly boost your email deliverability if used appropriately.

What Are Seed Emails?

Seed emails are essentially InboxAlly's own email addresses, which you would send your marketing emails to so that we can assess the deliverability and performance of your email sending platform. Our AI system interacts with each of these emails through the native user interface of the platform they're created on, not via an API or some other interface. This approach is vital for ensuring that email providers interpret these interactions as constructive user feedback, not simply a computer script running in the background.

This process aims to replicate human behavior in the most authentic way, intending to increase your email deliverability. Seed emails also provide a powerful tool for understanding email placement and improving your email interaction rate through A/B testing of subject line, content, and more.

How to Utilize Seed Emails?

You can download your set of seed emails from the Seed Emails page within the InboxAlly app, located on the left navigation bar. Once you have your seed emails downloaded, you'll need to create a Sender Profile. This profile defines the engagement rules applied to your emails when we receive them on our end.

Feel free to send your emails to all or even a part of your seed list. Most of them will be interacted with within 4 hours of sending, with the engagement starting within the first hour. You can monitor the results by clicking on either Broadcasts on the left navigation bar or through Reports and your dashboard.

On the sender profile page, we offer a variety of engagement rule presets. These presets can help you determine what types of engagement actions you'd like applied to your seed emails when they are included in your broadcasts. You can select a preset that matches your requirements well and then optionally tweak the settings for further personalization.

Regardless of your selection, these engagements are applied randomly every night at 12:00 AM according to your profile's local time. This ensures the interaction mimics natural human behavior as much as possible.

And there you have it! As you get started within our app, be sure to also check out out the quick start tutorial and new account setup guide. By understanding and properly using seed emails as part of your email campaign strategy, you'll improve the deliverability of your emails and stand a better chance of landing in your customers' inbox, not spam. This additional layer of insight regarding how your emails perform is vital for your email marketing success.
